Thief
Traveller•Trouble Brewing
A Traveller that selects a player each night to invert their vote value for the following day. This negative vote subtracts from the tally rather than adding to it, allowing for strategic saves or vote suppression.
Ability
Each night, choose a player (not yourself): their vote counts negatively tomorrow.
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- As a good Thief, target suspected evil players to nullify their voting power or disrupt their coordination.
- As a good Thief, coordinate with a trusted player to give them the negative vote, allowing them to intentionally lower the tally to save good players.
- As an evil Thief, target the Demon or Minions and inform them, allowing them to vote for themselves to lower the tally and survive execution.
- Vary your targets or choose dead players to keep the town guessing and prevent them from accounting for the math.
- Lie about who you chose to cause confusion during critical votes, potentially causing executions to fail unexpectedly.
Playing Against
- Pay close attention to the Storyteller's vote count; if the number decreases (e.g., '3... 4... 3'), the last voter has the negative vote.
- If you have the negative vote, use it to 'save' a player you want to keep alive by voting for them, which reduces the total tally.
- If you have the negative vote and want an execution to succeed, do not vote, as your vote will hinder the cause.
Interactions
Bureaucrat (Trouble Brewing)
If both choose the same player, that player possesses a negative three vote (-3), creating a massive swing.
Saint (Trouble Brewing)The negative vote can be used precisely to manipulate vote counts to either save or execute the Saint depending on your alignment.
Dead PlayersTargeting dead players affects their single 'ghost vote', which can be pivotal on the final day.
