Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Avoid choosing yourself; if the Storyteller makes you drunk, your ability fails immediately and neither player is protected.
- Select targets who do not rely on being sober for information or ability usage, such as the Fool, Goon, or players who have already used 'once per game' abilities.
- Lie publicly about who you are protecting to force the Demon to guess; if they attack your secret targets, you block the kills.
- In the late game, consider choosing two suspected evil players; if you select the Demon, you might make them drunk and stop them from killing entirely.
Playing Against
- If your ability malfunctions or information seems incorrect, consider that the Innkeeper may have protected (and drunked) you.
- A night with no deaths might be Innkeeper protection rather than a Demon like the Zombuul or Po intentionally not killing.
- Be wary of players claiming Innkeeper who consistently survive late into the game, as it is a common bluff for Demons to explain their survival.
Interactions
These characters are excellent protection targets as they either want to survive or do not suffer significantly from being drunk.
Po/ShabalothThe Innkeeper is vital for stopping the multiple kills these Demons can output in Bad Moon Rising.
Pacifist/Tea LadyKeeping these characters alive maintains their passive influence on the game, though drunkenness will temporarily disable their effects.
