Ability

Each night*, choose 2 players: they can't die tonight, but 1 is drunk until dusk.

Night Ritual (Storyteller Instructions)

Other Nights

"The Innkeeper points to two players, who are both safe from the Demon. One is drunk."

Strategy Guide

Playing As

  • Avoid choosing yourself; if the Storyteller makes you drunk, your ability fails immediately and neither player is protected.
  • Select targets who do not rely on being sober for information or ability usage, such as the Fool, Goon, or players who have already used 'once per game' abilities.
  • Lie publicly about who you are protecting to force the Demon to guess; if they attack your secret targets, you block the kills.
  • In the late game, consider choosing two suspected evil players; if you select the Demon, you might make them drunk and stop them from killing entirely.

Playing Against

  • If your ability malfunctions or information seems incorrect, consider that the Innkeeper may have protected (and drunked) you.
  • A night with no deaths might be Innkeeper protection rather than a Demon like the Zombuul or Po intentionally not killing.
  • Be wary of players claiming Innkeeper who consistently survive late into the game, as it is a common bluff for Demons to explain their survival.
