Juggler
A bold information gatherer who encourages public claims on the first day to verify them en masse at night. They learn a count of correct guesses, which can confirm a trust circle or detect global information tampering.
Ability
On your 1st day, publicly guess up to 5 players' characters. That night, you learn how many you got correct.
Night Ritual (Storyteller Instructions)
Other Nights
"If today was the Juggler's first day: Show the hand signal for the number (0, 1, 2, etc.) of 'Correct' markers. Remove markers."
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Encourage the 'Julian Gambit': compel the town to reveal characters early to overload the Demon with targets and maximize your guesses.
- Use your ability as a 'Vortox Check' by including yourself in the guesses; if you get a '0' despite guessing yourself correctly, a Vortox is likely in play.
- Coordinate with other good players to bluff as Juggler on day 1, reducing the chance the Demon targets you before you learn your information.
- Consider withholding the specific number you learned the next day to prevent the Evil team from deducing exactly which of their bluffs succeeded.
- Guessing up to 5 players offers the highest reward but is fragile; guessing fewer players (or confirming known good players) can provide more reliable logic chains.
Playing Against
- Bluff as the Juggler yourself to protect the real Juggler or to confuse the town about who to trust.
- As a Minion, confidently lie about your character to the Juggler to throw off their integer count and sow doubt about good players.
- If you are the Demon, determine if the Juggler's information is dangerous enough to kill them immediately, or if game conditions (like a Vortox or No Dashii) allow you to leave them alive with false info.
- Use the Cerenovus to make the Juggler mad they are a different character, preventing them from publicly using their ability on day 1.
Interactions
The Juggler is a critical counter, as guessing oneself and receiving a '0' acts as a hard confirmation of the Vortox's presence.
No DashiiIf the Juggler sits next to a No Dashii, they are poisoned and will receive arbitrary information, potentially misleading the town.
PhilosopherCan choose to gain the Juggler ability later in the game to verify the claims of surviving players.
CerenovusCan silence the Juggler on their crucial first day by forcing them to claim a different character.
Savant / Flowergirl / Town CrierHigh-value targets that benefit from the 'noise' of mass claims provoked by the Juggler, making it harder for the Demon to snipe them.
