Vortox
The Vortox is a Demon that inverts all Townsfolk information and forces the town to execute a player every day to avoid losing. While intimidating, once discovered, the Good team can reverse their information to solve the game.
Ability
Each night*, choose a player: they die. TownsfolkA good player with a helpful ability. abilities yield false info. Each day, if no-one is executed, evil wins.

Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Decide whether to hide the Vortox (by giving plausible but wrong info or mimicking No Dashii poisoning) or embrace it (causing chaos with obviously false info).
- If the town knows it is a Vortox game, you can bluff as a character getting 'false' info to blend in, or give true info to make yourself look suspicious (and thus not the Demon).
- Coordinate with Minions; they can provide true information to stand out as 'lying' (evil) or provide false information to appear Good.
- You can skip a kill at night to simulate a character change (like a Pit-Hag acting) or to confuse the town about the source of death.
- Consider bluffing characters that are hard to disprove even with false info, like the Dreamer or Savant, where you can invent entirely fictitious scenarios.
Playing Against
- You must execute every day; skipping an execution results in an immediate evil win, so even executing a corpse is better than abstaining.
- Once you identify a Vortox is in play, treat all Townsfolk information as false; binary (yes/no) abilities become 100% reliable when reversed.
- Compare information with others early; if multiple players have mathematically impossible or contradictory info (e.g., Oracle sees 0 with dead players), a Vortox is likely present.
- Be wary of 'true' information; if someone's information seems correct in a suspected Vortox game, they might be evil or the Vortox is not actually in play.
Interactions
These binary information characters become extremely powerful once the Vortox is confirmed, as their 'false' info can be directly inverted for the truth.
Artist/Seamstress/JugglerThese characters can perform 'hard checks' to confirm a Vortox (e.g., Artist asking 'Is 2+2=4?' or Juggler juggling themselves).
SavantLearns two false statements, which provides a massive amount of information once the player knows to treat both as false.
MathematicianWill likely receive a number equal to the total number of information-gathering Townsfolk acting, confirming the Vortox immediately.
Pit-HagCan create or remove a Vortox mid-game, suddenly making previous information true or false and confusing the town's logic chain.
PhilosopherCan choose an information role to gain guaranteed 'false' (and thus useful) information, bypassing the ambiguity of potential Drunkenness/Poisoning.
