Ability
Night Ritual (Storyteller Instructions)
First Night
"If 7 or more players: Show THESE ARE YOUR MINIONS. Point to 'Minions'. Show three bluffs. Put the Lunatic to sleep. Wake the demon. Show the YOU ARE token, and the Demon token. Show THIS PLAYER IS and the Lunatic token, point to the Lunatic."
Other Nights
"Do whatever is needed to simulate the demon."
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Test your 'Minions' early; if they appear confused or deny being evil, you are likely the Lunatic.
- Monitor the night kills closely; if your targets do not die or unselected players die, your 'Demon' identity is likely false.
- Once you realize you are the Lunatic, reveal yourself to the town immediately to confirm the Outsider count and reverse any false information provided.
- If you suspect you are the Lunatic, target players you think are actually evil at night; the real Demon sees your choice and may avoid killing their teammate.
- Bluff as a different character initially to test the waters before coming out as the Lunatic.
Playing Against
- As the Demon, decide whether to kill the Lunatic's targets to maintain the illusion or ignore them to cause confusion.
- As a Minion, if the Lunatic approaches you, play along to keep a good player working against their own team and wasting time.
- As a Good player, do not automatically execute a Lunatic claim; they are a confirmed good player if telling the truth.
- Count the Outsiders in play (Goon, Tinker, etc.) to verify if a Lunatic claim fits the game setup constraints.
Interactions
The Lunatic is an Outsider, so their presence affects the Outsider count and their death during the day can trigger the Godfather's ability.
Po/Pukka/Shabaloth/ZombuulThe Lunatic will believe they are a specific Demon type and mimic their selection pattern (e.g., choosing multiple players for Po/Shabaloth).
ProfessorSince the Lunatic is a good player (Townsfolk/Outsider category mechanically), a Professor can resurrect them if they die.
