Artist
A Townsfolk who can ask the Storyteller one yes/no question during the day. They are extremely flexible and can solve specific mechanical puzzles or narrow down the Demon candidates.
Ability
Once per game, during the day, privately ask the Storyteller any yes/no question.
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Use your question to split the game state in half, such as asking if the Demon is in a specific sector of the circle.
- You can verify other players' information, such as asking if a specific Savant statement is true.
- Consider using your question to check for a Vortox by asking a known truth (e.g., 'Am I the Artist?').
- You can 'Vortox-proof' your question using XOR logic (e.g., 'Is the statement [Statement A] true XOR is a Vortox in play?') to get a true answer regardless of the Demon type.
- Visit the Storyteller privately every day, even after using your ability, to make the Evil team fear you still have your question.
Playing Against
- Be aware that the Artist can solve specific mechanics like the Evil Twin or confirm a Vortox instantly.
- As an Evil player, bluffing as a 'used' Artist allows you to survive without providing ongoing information.
- If an Artist claims to have not used their question yet, they are a high-priority target for the Demon.
- Bluffing Artist lets you invent information to frame good players or clear evil teammates.
Interactions
The Artist receives false information if a Vortox is in play, making them a primary method for detecting this Demon via a 'Vortox check'.
Evil TwinThe Artist can ask 'Is [Player A] the Evil Twin?' to immediately resolve the Evil Twin pair.
No DashiiIf seated next to a No Dashii, the Artist is poisoned and will receive false information.
PhilosopherCan choose to gain the Artist ability to ask a critical question if the original Artist is dead or untrusted.
SavantThe Artist can verify one of the Savant's statements to deduce the truthfulness of the other.
