First Night

"Wake the Evil Twin and their twin. Confirm that they have acknowledged each other. Point to the Evil Twin. Show their Evil Twin token to the twin player. Point to the twin. Show their character token to the Evil Twin player."

Strategy Guide

Playing As

  • Claim the same character as the Good Twin to force a 50/50 logic puzzle and avoid confirming an extra good role.
  • Be vocal and passionate about staying alive; a laissez-faire attitude towards execution is a tell that you are the Evil Twin.
  • Coordinate with the Demon to skip a night kill, simulating a dead Demon scenario to panic the town into executing a twin.
  • If your twin is a Snake Charmer or Outsider, you may be able to collude with them or manipulate their specific win conditions.
  • Consider bluffing an Outsider if the script allows, implying a Fang Gu or other character manipulation is in play to confuse the Outsider count.

Playing Against

  • Do not execute a twin until you are confident; executing the Good Twin causes an immediate Evil victory.
  • If the Demon dies, the game continues; use the lack of night deaths to identify the dead Demon and then focus on the twins.
  • Utilize characters like the Town Crier, Flowergirl, or Seamstress to mechanically distinguish between the good and evil twin.
  • Observe player behavior; the Good Twin should be desperate to survive to prevent a loss, while the Evil Twin might be less genuine in their defense.
  • If one twin claims the pair exists and the other denies it, executing the denier is often the safer play to avoid an accidental loss.
