Ravenkeeper
The Ravenkeeper is a deterrent character who gains the truth about a player's role only if killed at night. They typically bluff as high-threat Townsfolk to bait the Demon into activating their ability.
Ability
If you die at night, you are woken to choose a player: you learn their character.
Night Ritual (Storyteller Instructions)
Other Nights
"If the Ravenkeeper died tonight: The Ravenkeeper points to a player. Show that player's character token."
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Bluff as a high-priority target (like Fortune Teller, Empath, or Undertaker) to tempt the Demon into killing you.
- If you die, choose a player whose character is pivotal to the game's logic or who is acting suspiciously quiet.
- You can choose a dead player to verify if they were telling the truth or if they were the Drunk, helping to solve the puzzle.
- Be wary of the Spy and Recluse, as they can register as different characters and provide misleading information.
- If you survive the whole game, use your status as a likely 'ignored' good player to lead voting, knowing the Demon feared your ability.
Playing Against
- Avoid killing the Ravenkeeper at night at all costs; if they survive, they have no ability.
- If a Spy is in play, identify the Ravenkeeper early to ensure the Demon does not accidentally target them.
- If you are evil and bluffing Ravenkeeper, use a 'night death' (such as an Imp starpass) to validate a Minion or accuse a good player of lying.
- If the Ravenkeeper dies and checks an evil player, accuse the Ravenkeeper of being Drunk or Poisoned to discredit their info.
Interactions
If the Demon attacks the Mayor and the kill redirects to the Ravenkeeper, the Ravenkeeper's ability triggers.
WasherwomanCan confirm the Ravenkeeper's identity early, allowing the Ravenkeeper to bluff aggressively to the rest of the town.
SpyA hard counter who can warn the Demon not to kill the Ravenkeeper, or register falsely if chosen.
DrunkIf the Ravenkeeper chooses the Drunk player, they see the Drunk token, instantly clarifying the game state regarding Outsiders and false info.
