Recluse
An Outsider who passively registers as evil, Minion, or Demon to other abilities, creating false positives for the good team. They effectively act as a source of misinformation that the good team must filter out to solve the game.

Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Reveal your character early to help the town filter out false information from Investigators, Chefs, and Empaths.
- Encourage a Slayer to shoot you; dying to a Slayer confirms them as good and removes your misinformation from the game.
- Bluff as a high-value target like the Undertaker or Fortune Teller to draw the Demon's attack at night.
- If the town distrusts you, accept execution or nominate yourself before the final day to avoid confusing the final logic puzzle.
Playing Against
- Be skeptical of 'evil' pings from Chefs or Empaths near a Recluse, as they may be false positives.
- If you are the Slayer, shooting a claimed Recluse is a high-value play; if they die, you are confirmed as the Slayer.
- Be aware that Minions or Demons often bluff as Recluse to explain away incriminating information like a Fortune Teller 'yes'.
- Do not blindly trust Undertaker information on a Recluse execution, as they may register as a Minion or Demon even in death.
Interactions
Can kill the Recluse if they register as a Demon, mechanically confirming the Slayer's identity.
Chef/EmpathThe Recluse can register as evil, creating false pairs or danger signals that confuse the layout of the evil team.
InvestigatorMay falsely identify the Recluse as a specific Minion, effectively wasting the Investigator's information.
UndertakerThe Recluse may register as a Minion or Imp upon death, potentially leading the town to believe a Scarlet Woman is in play.
Fortune TellerCan register as the Demon, giving a false 'Yes' signal to the Fortune Teller.
