Bone Collector
A Traveller who can temporarily restore the ability of a dead player for one night and day. They can swing the game by reviving critical information roles for the town or dangerous Minion abilities for the evil team.
Ability
Once per game, at night*, choose a dead player: they regain their ability until dusk.
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- As a good player, communicate with the dead to find the most potent 'once per game' abilities (like Artist or Seamstress) or consistent info gatherers (Flowergirl).
- As an evil player, coordinate with the Demon to identify dead Minions and restore their abilities for a crucial turn (e.g., a dead Pit-Hag or Cerenovus).
- You can bluff as Good by targeting a dead player with a passive or unverifiable ability (like the Mutant) to waste the power innocuously.
- Consider timing: using the ability late in the game on an information role is more powerful as the pool of suspects is smaller.
- Publicly announcing your target can build trust if you are Good, whereas staying silent allows for an ambush or deceit if you are Evil.
Playing Against
- Monitor for unexpected mechanical effects originating from the graveyard, such as madness (Cerenovus) or character changes (Pit-Hag), which indicate an evil Bone Collector.
- If the Bone Collector claims to return a specific ability but the effect does not happen, they may be evil or the target may be lying.
- Be skeptical of information gained from a 'revived' player if you do not trust the Bone Collector's alignment.
- Exile the Bone Collector if the game state becomes unmanageable or if they are suspected of reviving Minions.
Interactions
Restoring the Artist allows for a second game-solving question.
Pit-HagA dead Pit-Hag can be revived to change characters or create a new Demon, drastically altering the game.
JugglerAllows the Juggler to make a second round of guesses, confirming information or catching players in lies.
FlowergirlReviving the Flowergirl provides critical information on whether the Demon voted, narrowing down suspects.
CerenovusCan revive madness from the grave to disrupt the town's communication or cause an execution.
