Ability

Each day, after the 1st execution, you may nominate again.

Strategy Guide

Playing As

  • As a good player, use your ability to resolve double claims (e.g., two players claiming the same character) by executing both in a single day.
  • As an evil player, use the unchallengeable nature of your nomination to force executions on good players, even if the town is hesitant.
  • Coordinate with your team if you are evil; ensure you do not accidentally nominate the Demon or a Minion holding a critical ability.
  • Be mindful of the player count; reducing the population too quickly can hurt the good team by removing information sources or triggering loss conditions (like the Evil Twin).
  • If the town is undecided or ties on the first vote, you do not get to use your ability, so encourage a primary execution if you want to use yours.

Playing Against

  • Monitor the Butcher's nominations closely; if they consistently target good players or refuse to nominate consensus evil candidates, consider exiling them.
  • Be extremely cautious in Evil Twin games; the Butcher accelerates the death count, which can end the game before the Twin pair is resolved.
  • Watch voting patterns during the Butcher's nomination; since this vote cannot be 'beaten' by a subsequent nomination, a coordinated evil team can force a kill with just 50% of the vote.
  • If a Witch is in play and the Butcher is never cursed, suspect them of being evil, as a good Butcher is a high-priority target for the Witch.
