Klutz
An Outsider who risks losing the game immediately upon death if they select an evil player. However, if they successfully choose a good player, that player becomes undeniably confirmed, providing a powerful anchor for the good team.
Ability
When you learn that you died, publicly choose 1 alive player: if they are evil, your team loses.
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Your primary job is to identify one player you are 100% certain is good; if you die and choose them, they are mechanically confirmed as good for the rest of the town.
- In a Vortox game, your ability is one of the few sources of reliable information; if the game does not end after your choice, that player is definitely good.
- Avoid selecting players involved in 'double claims' or the Evil Twin pair, as the statistical odds of hitting an evil player are significantly higher.
- Be cautious about revealing your role early in a script with a Fang Gu, as you are a prime target for the Demon to attack and swap with.
- If you are unsure who to pick, look for players whose information seems to solve the game or who have been mechanically confirmed by other reliable abilities.
Playing Against
- As an evil player, prioritize building strong trust with the Klutz so they choose you upon their death, instantly winning the game for your team.
- Bluff as the Klutz (especially as a Minion in a Vigormortis game) to 'confirm' your Demon or another Minion as good when you die.
- If you are the Demon, consider leaving a known Klutz alive if they seem likely to pick a good player, as their death would only confirm a good player for the town.
- Be aware that in a Fang Gu game, a Klutz bluff might attract the Demon to attack you, thinking you are a jump target.
Interactions
As an Outsider, the Klutz is a target for the Fang Gu to jump to; this is a major threat to keep in mind when revealing your character.
VortoxThe Klutz's confirmation of a good player is immune to the Vortox's falsification, making it incredibly valuable in these games.
Pit-HagAn evil Pit-Hag can transform a player into the Klutz late in the game to force a high-stakes 50/50 choice.
Evil TwinThe Klutz must strictly avoid the Good/Evil Twin pair, as picking the Evil Twin results in an immediate loss.
VigormortisMinions killed by the Vigormortis often bluff as the Klutz to effectively 'clear' an evil teammate.
