Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Prioritize protecting information-gathering roles like the Empath, Fortune Teller, or Undertaker to maximize their utility.
- Avoid protecting players who want to be attacked or die, such as the Soldier or Ravenkeeper.
- Since you cannot protect yourself, bluff as a role the Demon avoids (like Soldier) or fears (like Ravenkeeper) to survive.
- Protecting a suspicious player can prevent a Demon (specifically the Imp) from killing themselves to 'star-pass' to a Minion.
Playing Against
- The Demon should attempt to identify and kill the Monk early to remove the Town's protection.
- Evil players can bluff as the Monk to explain nights where no one died, claiming they protected the target.
- Sinking a kill (choosing not to kill anyone) can validate a Monk bluff or cast doubt on the real Monk's claims.
Interactions
If the Monk protects the Imp, it prevents the Imp from killing themselves to pass their ability to a Minion.
MayorProtecting the Mayor ensures they survive without triggering their ability to redirect the kill to another player.
RavenkeeperA bad target for protection, as the Ravenkeeper needs to die at night to use their ability.
SoldierA wasted protection target, as the Soldier is already safe from the Demon.
Fortune Teller/EmpathHigh-priority targets that rely on the Monk to survive long enough to solve the game.
