Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Target key information roles like the Undertaker, Empath, or Fortune Teller to disrupt the good team's logic chain.
- Communicate with the Spy (if present) to identify and snipe-poison high-threat roles like the Slayer or Ravenkeeper before they act.
- Coordinate with the Demon to ensure you do not poison their kill target, unless you are intentionally poisoning the Demon to simulate a Monk or Soldier save.
- Consider sticking to one target to frame them as the Drunk, or switch targets frequently to spread paranoia across the town.
- Bluff as an Outsider or claim your information is wrong to suggest a Drunk or Baron is in play, masking your own poisoning.
Playing Against
- Monitor players for sudden inconsistencies in their information, such as an Empath's number changing without neighbor deaths.
- If a Slayer uses their ability on a suspected Demon and nothing happens, consider that the Slayer may have been poisoned.
- Prioritize executing a suspected Poisoner immediately, as they remain a high-threat disruptor every night they are alive.
- Cross-reference information between players; since the Poisoner can only target one person at a time, finding the single point of failure often reveals the truth.
- Be skeptical of 'loud' or confirmed powerful roles suddenly receiving useless or contradictory data.
Interactions
The Spy can direct the Poisoner to the most dangerous active roles (e.g., Slayer, Virgin) or confirm which bluffs to support.
ImpThe Poisoner can poison the Imp to prevent a death at night, simulating a Soldier or Monk protection to build trust for the Demon.
SlayerA critical target; poisoning the Slayer wastes their 'once per game' ability if they attempt to shoot.
DrunkBy poisoning other players, the Poisoner can hide the existence of the real Drunk or confuse the Outsider count.
Fortune TellerFeeding false 'no's or 'yes's to the Fortune Teller can frame good players or clear the Demon.
