Saint
The Saint is an Outsider who instantly loses the game for their team if they are executed. They must convince the good team of their identity to avoid the block, or try to get killed by the Demon at night to prove their alignment.
Ability
If you die by executionThe deliberate killing of a player by the town during the day., your team loses.
Strategy Guide
Playing As
- Your primary goal is to avoid execution at all costs; dying at night is the safest way to leave the game.
- Come out publicly as the Saint early so the town knows not to nominate or execute you.
- Alternatively, bluff as a high-threat Townsfolk (like Slayer or Fortune Teller) to bait the Demon into killing you at night.
- If nominated, defend yourself immediately and loudly; do not wait until votes are tallied to reveal your character.
- Ask a Slayer to shoot you or a Fortune Teller to check you to prove you are not the Demon without risking execution.
Playing Against
- Be extremely cautious about executing a player claiming Saint, as it results in an immediate loss for the good team.
- Use a Slayer to target a Saint claimant; if they are the real Saint, they will not die and the game continues, but if they are the Demon, they die and good wins.
- Evil players, particularly the Demon, frequently bluff Saint to survive execution, especially leading into the final day.
- If a Saint dies at night, they are likely good, but be wary of a Demon star-passing to a Minion after bluffing Saint.
- Compare the Saint claim against the expected Outsider count (e.g., is there a Baron in play?) to verify validity.
Interactions
Can target the Saint to prove they are not the Demon without triggering the game-ending condition.
Fortune TellerCan investigate the Saint to confirm they are not the Demon (barring Red Herring issues).
ImpOften bluffs as Saint to discourage the town from executing them.
BaronThe presence of a Baron adds Outsiders to the count, making a Saint claim more plausible.
Scarlet WomanIf an Imp bluffing Saint is executed, the Scarlet Woman becomes the Demon, continuing the game.
